“Heritage,” the special shirt on the partnership with China

On the occasion of the EniLive Serie A match against Inter, scheduled for Saturday, April 12 (6 p.m.) at the “Giuseppe Meazza” stadium in San Siro, Cagliari will take the field with a special limited edition match uniform. In fact, the “Heritage” jersey is born, created to celebrate Sardinia and its excellence from a historical, cultural and landscape point of view, but also to tell the story of the strengthened link with China, in particular with Fujian Province and the city of Xiapu, where the Club has recently started an important cultural and sporting exchange.

A BRIDGE BETWEEN TWO TERRITORIES
The jersey is part of a journey begun in recent months, when Cagliari Calcio visited Xiapu, strengthening ties with local institutions – also guests in their turn on the island – and with the Chinese community through cooperation, cultural and sports development projects. In addition, the XPlay program was launched, designed to enhance young talents and promote football culture in China, thanks to the work of the Rossoblù coaches with uniform methodologies and philosophies with respect to the Sardinian club’s guidelines (MORE INFO AT THIS LINK).

This initiative is also part of the activities promoted by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, which recently signed a twinning agreement with Fujian Province, confirming its growing attention to the Chinese market (CLICK HERE).

HISTORY, SYMBOLS AND SHARED IDENTITY
The Special “Heritage” Jersey, made in collaboration with technical partner EYE Sport, combines technical innovation and symbolic strength. Made of Check Mesh of recycled origin, with Wicking treatment to ensure maximum breathability and comfort during sports activity, the jersey represents a perfect synthesis between functionality and storytelling inherent to the cultural significance of the initiative. The design celebrates 2025, the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese calendar, a symbol of prosperity and rebirth. In the center, a sinuous snake-inspired by Chinese dragon iconography-is developed in a tone-on-tone pattern on an imperial red background, enhanced by fine golden details.

To complete the visual narrative a plot inspired by the Boeli Stele (Sa Perda Pintà), one of the oldest symbols of Sardinia’s megalithic tradition; on the sleeves, there are inserts inspired by traditional Sardinian weaving; on the right sleeve edge, a decorative Chinese knot in golden silicone; the EYE Sport logo and the Cagliari Calcio crest in the latest lightweight silicone; on the inside of the collar, the words “Cagliari Calcio” and “EYE Sport”; on the back of the collar, the Chinese character 福 (fu), a symbol of luck and blessing; a special numbered “Limited Edition” label reserved for authentic, collectible or competition items; NFC tags on the front for digital authentication. The colors-imperial red, blue, and gold-represent a combination of Chinese symbolism and the richness of Sardinian culture.

PLAYERS’ SURNAMES IN CHINESE
To further emphasize the cultural and international scope of this initiative, Cagliari players will take the field with their surnames written in Chinese characters. A symbolic gesture that testifies to respect, openness and a desire for dialogue between different cultures, united under the red and blue colors. The jersey, available for purchase through the online store and in all official Cagliari Calcio and EYE Sport stores, is a collector’s item for those who want to wear a fragment of history, culture and innovation.
