Yael Trepy was discharged this afternoon from the University Hospital of Sassari. The young footballer leaves the hospital in good clinical condition, after the treatment process which began following the serious episode which made it necessary for him to be admitted to the Emergency Intensive Care Unit at the Santissima Annunziata hospital.
After the most critical phase and the progressive improvement in his respiratory condition, Trepy was transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to the Clinical and Interventional Pulmonology Unit of the University Clinics on Viale San Pietro, where he continued his treatment and recovery until his discharge today.
«The patient is discharged today in overall good clinical conditions, after a clinical path that highlighted a progressive and significant recovery – declared Professor Pietro Pirina, director of Clinical and Interventional Pneumology at the Aou of Sassari – The tests carried out during the hospitalization showed an improving picture and allowed the discharge to be planned with serenity».
«Yael’s resignation is news that makes us particularly happy – states the general director of the Aou of Sassari, Serafinangelo Ponti – and represents the final moment of a journey that has seen many professionals work together. From local aid to assistance in the Intensive Care Unit, up to Pneumology and all the services that contributed to the patient’s diagnosis, treatment and recovery: this story demonstrates the value of a healthcare network that was able to respond with competence, timeliness and full integration.”
«If in recent days someone has spoken of a miracle – continues Ponti – we prefer to talk about the work of a system that has worked. Behind this result there are people, professionalism and great teamwork. It is an opportunity to reiterate the value of our public health service, which faces complex situations every day, often far from the spotlight. We extend our best wishes to Yael for a full return to her daily life and, naturally, to her sporting career.”
The player greeted the department staff, the general manager, and the medical director with a smile. Today’s discharge concludes Trepy’s hospitalization at the AOU Sassari, which began in critical condition and continued, thanks to his positive clinical progress, until he was released from the hospital.
