PRESS ROOM | Deiola with the media

First Team - 22/12/2024

The Rossoblu midfielder Alessandro Deiola spoke to the media after the Venezia-Cagliari match.

THE RIGHT PATH
“We put in an important performance, and it’s disappointing because we’re not getting the rewards for what we produce. We need to work on the finishing aspect, but I’m convinced we’re on the right path. We are proud of what we’re doing, of our journey, and with this attitude and commitment, the results will come. We paid for the blackout at the start of the second half, and we can’t afford that. Every minute makes a difference, and we can’t let up because it will cost us dearly.”

A HEALTHY AND STRONG GROUP
“We’ve built an important group and mentality together with the Coach, and we’re happy. Every day, we work to improve. I’m convinced that this unity and spirit will take us far; it’s impossible to play like this and not get results. The goal-scoring issue? We’re all focused, no one ever gives up, and that’s crucial. I’m sure the goals and results will come soon; it’s a matter of working on it and giving even more.”

WORKING ON MISTAKES
“We take it one game at a time. We leave here with an undeserved defeat, but we’ll use it to raise our focus. As a Sardinian, it’s normal that it hurts to lose and go through tough moments, but we’re all giving our best for this jersey. This spirit needs to be strengthened to achieve the results needed to reach our goal. We controlled the game for a long time, but it’s not acceptable to start the second half like that, especially after a great first half in which Venezia had just one shot on target. We’re working to improve, but with this spirit, we’ll manage to get what we deserve.”

MOVING FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE
“How’s the mood in the locker room? Calm and united, we’re at peace, and you can see that on the pitch. We’re leaving disappointed and angry, but we’re also aware of what we’re doing and what we’re missing. We came here to fight and get the best result, but we didn’t succeed, and it’s really disappointing. However, we know these moments well; we’ve been through many of them. There’s work to do, but we’re united, with no issues whatsoever, and we’re determined to push through this tough period from a results perspective.”
