Cagliari and Como together at ‘The Soccer Tournament’

Cagliari Calcio and Como 1907 will fly together to the United States to participate in ‘The Soccer Tournament’, a 7-a-side football tournament scheduled from 5 to 10 June, hosted by the city of Cary, North Carolina. The two clubs join forces by presenting themselves at the international tournament – 48 teams will be taking part – with a joint selection of their two Primavera teams.

Placed in group J together with Villarreal, North Carolina FC and City Soccer Society, the team will be led by coach Fabio Pisacane. Cagliari will be joined by Sofiane Achour, Alessandro Bolzan, Riyad Idrissi, Diego Marcolini, Matteo Amos Marini, Simone Renna and Jacopo Simonetta. The opener is scheduled for Thursday 5 against City Soccer Society at 11.45 am (local time, 5.45 pm in Italy).

The collaboration between Cagliari and Como will also extend off the pitch. On the occasion of the event, inside the Fan Zone, the joint stand of the two clubs will entertain fans with a series of activities aimed at introducing their Summer Camps together: an opportunity for young people from the United States and all over the world to experience a holiday full of fun and games, followed in training by the instructors of the youth sector, with the possibility at the same time to admire live the beauty of the two territories. From the beaches of Sardinia to the shores of Lake Como, the culture and traditions of the two peoples. Typical local products will be presented: in the ‘pasta making’ lessons, space will be given to the art of preparing malloreddus, with demonstration videos made by Cagliari’s Chef, William Pitzalis. At aperitif time, the traditional spritz from Como will be accompanied by Sardinian chips from the Crocchias company, followed by Sardinian nougat from the Maxia company of Aritzo.

‘The Soccer Tournament’ will be reported within the official red and blue channels.
