AssistsBorn in Verona on August 25, 2001, Elia Caprile took his first steps in the youth academy of Chievo Verona before joining Leeds United, a Premier League club, in the summer of 2020.
After two seasons in England, he returned to Italy, signing with Pro Patria in Serie C. In Busto Arsizio, he immediately earned the starting goalkeeper role, making 36 league appearances, 12 of them with a clean sheet. His impressive performances attracted the attention of clubs from higher divisions.
In the summer of 2022, he signed with Bari, newly promoted to Serie B, where he established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He played 41 matches, playing a key role in the team’s qualification for the promotion playoffs.
The following year, he moved to Empoli under coach Davide Nicola. Even in Tuscany, Elia confirmed his qualities, asserting himself as one of the most promising young Italian goalkeepers.
Signed permanently by Napoli, he played four Serie A matches before being loaned to Cagliari during the January transfer window.
He has two appearances with Italy’s Under-21 national team and was part of the squad for the 2021 European Championship in Romania and Georgia.
A modern goalkeeper who combines physicality and technique, Caprile stands out for his lightning-fast reflexes and great confidence in aerial and ground interventions. Particularly skilled with his feet, he is determined to continue his development wearing the Rossoblù jersey.
