Born in Rhodes on 18 January 1997 to a Greek father and a Dutch mother, he grew up footballing in the Netherlands, where he moved at a very young age to play for AZ Alkmaar, of which he was to become a flag bearer. After all his training in the youth academy, he made his first-team debut in December 2015 in the Europa League in Bilbao against Athletic Club (2-2). He scored his first goal on 19 September 2017, in the 3-2 win against Maastricht in the National Cup. His performances contributed to the team's results: he racked up a series of top championships, came close to winning the title in the 19/20 season and played in the European cups, reaching the Conference League semi-finals last season.

He has just qualified for the 23/24 Conference League also thanks to one of his goals, the equalizer (1-1), scored on 24 August in the first leg of the preliminaries against Brann, which proved decisive in the double-header against the Norwegians. He leaves AZ Alkmaar after totalling 213 matches and six goals.

Thanks to his dual passport, he started playing in the Dutch national selections and then chose Greece: from U17 to U21 until his debut with the senior national team with which he can already boast more than 30 appearances.

A central defender, right foot preferred, he is also used on the left in a four-man defence. Strong in marking, good in closures and reading the game, thanks to a good basic technique he is also adept at exiting the ball and setting up. He brings all his determination and the wealth of experience he has accumulated over the years, including at international level.
