Born in Trieste in 1995, he grew up in the AC Milan youth academy, making his first-team debut at only 17 against Zenit St. Petersburg in the Champions League. After playing on loan between the ranks of Sampdoria, Latina, Vicenza and Ascoli, he was bought by Atalanta. On 26 August 2016, the first day of Serie A, he scored his first goal against Lazio with the Bergamasks. In the space of two seasons he will play 75 matches, with 11 goals and 16 assists, totalled between the league, Coppa Italia and Europa League.

In the summer of 2018 he switched to Spal: his was the decisive goal on his debut with Ferrara in the away match in Bologna (0-1). In his first season in Emilia, he collected 36 appearances and 16 goals, which were fundamental for the team's salvation. The following year he was in double figures again, scoring another 12 goals.

His performance thus led him to Napoli: on 25 October 2020, he scored his first goal in the 1-2 win against Benevento. During his two years in the Azzurri jersey, he took the field 68 times with 9 goals and 8 assists, making his contribution to qualifying for the Europa League and, the following year, the Champions League.

In August 2022 he moved permanently to Monza, with whom he scored five goals, including the one in the 2-0 win in the prestigious victory against Napoli, and seven assists in 31 matches.

After playing in the youth national teams, he made his debut with the senior national team on 28 March 2017 in the friendly victory against the Netherlands.

A powerful striker, 190 cm tall, he is a skilful centre forward in the aerial game, capable of also playing outside the penalty area and with his back to goal, to protect the ball, open up spaces for his teammates and participate in the construction of the manoeuvre.
