Born in Bragança Paulista, in the state of São Paulo, in 1994, Paulo Daniel Dentello Azzi started to play in Brazil, before joining the roster of Cittadella at the age of 19. On 15 March 2014, he made his Serie B debut against Como and in the following round found his first professional goal in the 4-0 win against Padova.

Purchased by Brazilian team Tombense, he came back to Italy in the 2015-16 season, first to Spezia and then Pavia. He then played with the jerseys of Pordenone, Siracusa, Bisceglie, Pro Vercelli, Seregno and Lecco, stages in a journey of growth and learning our football.

In the summer of 2021, he arrived at Modena where he carved out a role for himself as an absolute protagonist: 37 matches, with 7 goals and as many assists, among the revelations of the C championship, he was one of the main architects of the "Canarini"'s promotion to Serie B. He arrived at Cagliari in January 2023, after an excellent first part of the season in Serie B.

Azzi is a full-band outside player, where he can bring out all his athleticism and technical skills. Fast, physically strong, 188 cm, tactically flexible: used in his career both as a high and low flanker, his preferred foot the right, in the offensive phase he likes to centre from the left to jump over the man, look for a shot on goal or on occasion provide inviting balls to attackers.
