Interview

Rossoblù World - 25/11/2023

Gaetano Oristanio spoke on Radiolina’s ‘Il Cagliari in diretta’ programme. He talked about his own experience and feelings about the match that awaits the Rossoblù on Saturday at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome against Lazio. The striker spoke as follows:

THE CHOICE OF CAGLIARI
“The experience in Holland was definitely positive, I adapted quickly and had the chance to grow, even to make mistakes. I decided to return to Italy, I chose Cagliari: I thank the President, the Director, the Coach who gave me this opportunity. I am very happy here, I have found a spectacular people. The fans and the city have always been close to us, even at the beginning when the moment was not so easy: this has helped us to come out of difficulties’.

THE FIRST GOAL IN A
“The emotion of the first goal in Serie A was great, but at that point we only had to think about turning the game around: I like to think it was the turning point for Cagliari, now the important thing is to score more and try to bring as many points as possible home to reach our goal.

THE COACH’S TEACHINGS
“The coach teaches us to never give up and always work seriously and give our best. Regardless of whether you start or not, the important thing is to always be ready, even when you take over during the game: you have to immediately understand the match, the game situations, and be reactive. The competition? This group is so good that I don’t like to call it that: we help each other, we get on well together. Whether one or the other plays doesn’t matter, it’s important to give everything.

THE NEXT CHALLENGE
“We must go to Rome to fight with the knowledge that we are a strong group that can put everyone in trouble. Lazio is one of the big teams in the league: we must, as always, go onto the pitch to give 100 per cent. First time at the Olimpico? It will definitely be exciting, it’s a big step in my career, but I’ll put the emotion aside to play a great game and help the team.
